Dr. Jane works as a strategy consultant to higher education institutions and industry partners. She delivers analysis and strategies that grow business. The current fourth industrial revolution places greater expectations for educational systems to support life-long learning. At the same time, formal educational systems are being confronted by changes in demographics and technology. These changes provide both risk and opportunity for organizations that effectively plan for the future.
Dr. Jane’s path in academia took her from Professor, to Administrator (in the role of Chief Undergraduate Officer). Thereafter, she delved deeply into work as a Subject Matter Expert, and Instructional Designer building on-line courses and curriculums for a multitude of universities, both domestically and internationally. Her work focuses on development of a range of business management and leadership courses.
By the late 1990s, online education was emerging as an alternative for campus-based programs. The growing access to the internet created new opportunities for students. Even if they would prefer being in a classroom, many students found the convenience of taking classes without ever stepping foot on campus or having to be in class at a specific time, offset the downsides of virtual classes- resulting in a huge transition away from campus learning, to online learning.
Until 2020 Online Program Management Companies (OPMs) dominated the online higher education sphere, selling services to higher educational institutions to support the development and delivery of online learning. Traditional academic institutions did not see the merits of online delivery of learning. Given COVID19, the world sees the future- online learning is here to stay, and is disrupting an industry. Now is the time to face this new demand with innovative, and insightful solutions!
Given her range of experience, transitioning into a strategy consultant to higher ed institutions and related partners was a natural development. Her focus is on forward facing learning for the 21st century business on on-line learners.
